I had a great experience at Spoons! I arrived around 10:30 am and didn't have to wait, though the restaurant was starting to get busy inside. I ordered the oysters and grits, which were absolutely delicious. The oysters were perfectly fried, and the grits had fantastic flavor. My husband chose The Beast, which was also very tasty--the gravy was amazing, and the chicken was crispy and well-seasoned. We shared the deep-fried sweet cream French toast, but it wasn't really our favorite. The filling was more tangy than sweet, which wasn't what we were expecting, so we likely wouldn't order it again. For drinks, we both had the spiked apple cider, and it was phenomenal! The balance of bourbon and apple cider was spot-on--not too sweet, not too strong. I highly recommend trying it if you visit. The service was excellent as well. Our waitress was attentive, and everything came out quickly. We'll definitely be back to Spoons to explore more of the menu!
Great breakfast spot! We actually picked up our food instead of dining in but it was delicious and i would definitely come back. Pick up was also really quick and we had no issues. Service was great and the inside looked pretty ample with seating options. Highly recommend: - Oatmeal cookie latte - biscuits and gravy - Hot hen - Rock Bison
Attentive service as several of us enjoyed a leisurely reprieve on a wintry day after visiting the Christmas market nearby. Solid coffee and latte ... brunch items were abundant and delicious ... excellent fruit side to balance the rich Beast with its abundant ladles of gravy ... lighter salmon Benedict ... and classic oyster and bacon over eggs in a skillet. All very filling and delicious!
If you have not yet dined at this gem of a brunch spot, you are doing yourself a disservice. This such a cute spot...the vibe is so cozy and warm. Feels like you are dining over a family member's comfy Bmore rowhome for breakfast. This was our 2nd visit, the first time I ordered stuffed french toast which was AMAZING. This time I ordered the 222 with scrambled eggs, french toast and bacon with a side of grits. My husband ordered the Eggs Benedict with a side of grits. We devoured our food. My French toast was so buttery with the perfect balance of crispy edges with a nice warm soft inside. The powdered sugar ratio was perfect as I usually have to ask restaurants for extra ..nope Spoons had it right!!! Needless to say, we "could have" shared one side of grits but their grits are so YUMMY that neither one of us wanted to share and we didn't want to start a conflict lol. Brunch is LIFE for me!! Spoons definitely is one of the BEST brunch spots in Baltimore City.
I left this place plotting for my next return. Everything was amazing, from the food to the service to the drinks. The prices weren't bad for everything we ordered and I appreciated the server's attention to detail and explanations about the dishes I had questions about. The cinnamon roll pancakes were perfect, the only place I've ever been to that actually got it right. My omelette was everything I wanted to be. They'll see me again soon
Nice place. Tea and coffee were great. Staff was nice. Food was good but it took a lil long to come out. I had the 2+2+2 bacon French toast. The French toast was cold. It seems like the wait staff and the cooks were not getting a long. They had a few words with each other. Hope they get along next time.
While visiting the area, my friend and I stumbled across this spot and turned out to be pretty good! Food: 8/10 - I had the 2-2-2, this was the perfect amount of food and filling! Everything was cooked to perfection! The eggs were a bit cheesy for me, but were scrambled great! My friend had the "Jack and Diane", and mentioned it being really good as well. Service: 8/10 - Our waiter was friendly and attentive. Ambiance: 9/10 - this spot gives quaint and spacious cafe vibes. Its intimate setting is perfect for a small number brunch group.
Came back recently and just wanted to say how delicious the pancakes were and I really enjoyed my breakfast burrito! Loved the service as well, everyone was so nice
(Updated rating) We were seated pretty quickly but took like 10 minutes for a server to come but once they came along the service was pretty solid. I had the 2-2-2 with pancakes, scrambled eggs, and sausage Patties and I also had the deep fried sweet cream stuffed French toast. 2-2-2 pancakes, sausage Pattie's, scrambled eggs (2.5/5): the 2-2-2 was pretty average for the most. The pancakes were okay, The eggs were standard, and the sausage Pattie were solid. I definitely wouldn't get it again tho. Deep fried sweet cream stuffed French toast (4.5/5): the stuffed French toast was very good. I have been on an ongoing mission to find the best stuffed French toast since ihop sadly got rid of them but these are the 2nd best l've had after ihop of course. Spoons' sweet cream stuffed French toast was pretty filling as well and I would definitely recommend it and return for it in the future.
Spoons is a cute little breakfast/brunch restaurant hidden in Fed Hill! I visited during a weekday, so there wasn't a wait. I feel like the menu had something to offer everyone! My eyes were bigger than my stomach and I opted to try the beast-- a very big chicken sandwich with egg and sausage gravy on top. I didn't finish it all, but it was tasty and will definitely fill you up!
